The first day of school was always the scariest for me, especially since it's my senior year. I had a feeling that this year was going to be awesome. I had a great summer with my friends at the beach. We did so many cool things and made lots of good memories. I knew the summer had to come to an end at some point but I wish it wasn't so soon. Today was going to be my last first day of school. Mom was taking several pictures of me and my friends, then she eventually let us leave. We piled into my friend's car. The radio was always on in her car, so we jammed out the entire way to school.
As we all got out of the car, I noticed an orange sports car pulling up in front of the school. 2 guys stepped out, leaving the car parked in the front of the building. They both were wearing leather jackets, jeans, converse, and sunglasses covering their faces. One of them had blonde hair and the other brown, both with pounds of gel in it. They looked like they were from Grease. I was waiting for someone to break out into song.
Homeroom is always crazy! Some teachers try to calm their students down so they can hear the announcements and others could care less. My friends and I normally go on our phones during homeroom, but this time we talked about the summer. The whole class was a big loud roar until someone opened the door. It was those 2 guys that got out of the orange sports car. Both of them still had their sunglasses on their faces. I really want to see their faces so I can identify who they are. Blondie handed the teacher a slip of paper, probably a hall pass. They decided to sit in front of me and my friends. No one said another word, it was dead silent.
My homeroom class was also my first period class, so after the bell rang everyone just stayed where they were. The teacher passed out packets for us to work on and everyone groaned. We all started working on the packets quietly so we wouldn't have homework. I thought that the teacher would yell at the 2 "greasers" for wearing their sunglasses in school but I could tell that the teacher had better things to do.
Out of nowhere, Blondie decides to stand up and shout something to the entire class, "Does anyone have a pencil with an eraser that I could borrow?" The teacher looks at him for a few seconds but then turns back to the whiteboard. His friends yells at him to sit down and he does. My friend behind me decides to say, "She has a pencil!" and she pointed to me! I wanted to turn around and slap her. I turned red, he turned around. He takes off his shades and asks me for a pencil. I give him a pencil and he turned back around. I got back to working on my packet. I wasn't expecting him to have blue eyes. He turned around again, and handed me a slip of paper. I opened up the piece of paper and it had 10 numbers written on it. A phone number. His phone number. There also was a little message on it. "Bowling Alley, Friday at 7?" I tapped him on the shoulder and whispered, "Yes".
I was filled with excitement that I couldn't explain. I got asked out by a cool new guy on the first day of my senior year. I knew this year was going to be awesome!
